The Beneficiaries

The beneficiaries are the Pampanga Aetas with small darken-skin, kinky-hair people and with big round eyes occupying the hilly lands situated in the mountain ranges of the provinces of Pampanga, Zambales and Tarlac, all in Central Luzon which we believed are descendants of the original inhabitants of the Philippines.

They dwell on a small abode made of indigenous materials such as cogon grass as their roofing and bamboo poles and slabs for their walls and live in small groups with their relatives or clan members.

During the violent eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in June 1991, thousand of people became homeless and 60,000 Aetas were displaced from their natural habitat due to the massive destruction of the forest.

Like all other Filipinos, they tend to live in areas where they can find more opportunities and a brighter future for the next generation. Today, they can be seen selling the fruits of their work in the surrounding towns and cities. Alas, this is not enough.
